Letters from 2nd Graders
The below letters were written by 2nd Graders who recently visited the Troy Historic Village and experienced the Poppleton One Room School program. We are sure you will have as much pleasure reading these very candid letters from these wonderful students.
Dear Miss Post, Were you a student in Miss Post’s class?
“Were you a student in Miss Post’s class. How do you know about this? How old are you. It was really creepy in the school, I am glad I was not in School at that time. I loved how it was back in the days. Thank you for lessoning.” -2nd grader, Hickory Woods Elementary
Dear Miss Post, Thank you for teachin us how to have good manners.
“Thank you for teachin us how to have good manners. You are a good teacher. I was not born but it seemed pretty popular then. That book you read was good. I have not heard about a teacher like you. Dear Miss Post, I loved having you as a teacher in the old times.
“I loved having you as a teacher in the old times. It was super fun. I loved that I got in trouble. I loved the desks and the old names that we had. I learned how you wanted kids to be seen and not heard. I love how we were kids in the 1,800’s.” -2nd grader, Hickory Woods Elementary

“You have teached me some things and I would love to visit you some time and I did like pretend recess where I teased the boys and being Frances Pool and you saying you are all ready in trouble.
