Thursday Walking Group – Winter WanderLand
Join us on Thursday evenings for FREE group walks covering a variety of scenic routes in or around Troy. See below for a description of each week’s planned walk; location and terrain vary week to week, but walks are generally between 1 and 2 miles. Walkers are strongly encouraged to bring a flashlight, headlamp, or lantern. In case of icy conditions, we will meet at Somerset Mall in Troy—register below for email notification. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome! Offered in partnership with Beaumont Health.

Jan. 3, 5pm: Robinwood Park (640 Robinwood Drive, Troy)
Paved and meandering pathway through a pretty neighborhood park across from Morse Elementary School. Distance: 1 – 2 miles
Jan. 10, 5pm: Clinton River Trail (Leach Rd. Trailhead, Adams & Leach Rd. in Rochester Hills)
Nice, flat gravel path takes us past the mastodon site as we walk toward Auburn Hills on the scenic Clinton River Trail. Distance: 2 miles
Jan. 17, 5pm: Milverton Park (2384 E Maple Rd, Troy)
Paved trail through the skinniest park in Troy, plus a short trek on the grassy bank around the pond. Distance: 1 -2 miles
Jan. 24, 5pm: Boulan Park (3671 Crooks Rd, Troy)
Paved trail circling Boulan Park will take us past historic Crooks Road Cemetery.Distance: 1.25 – 2.5 miles
Jan. 31, 5pm: Rochester Municipal Park (400 Sixth Street, Rochester—parking lot is on Pine Street)
Three excellent walks in one: from the Pine Street parking lot, we’ll walk through Rochester Municipal Park and take the Paint Creek Trail to Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve for an out-and-back route on a mix of paved, gravel, and dirt trail surfaces. Distance: 2 miles
