May 2, 6pm: Stage Nature Center

6685 Coolidge Hwy, Troy (between Square Lake Rd. & South Blvd.)

Discover the beauty of marsh lowlands, upland forests, grassy knolls, and thickets. Listen for the calls of native birds and be soothed by the calming sounds of the Rouge River headwaters as they trickle over rocks near the trails.

Distance: approximately 2 miles.

May 9, 6pm: River Bends Park

5700 22 Mile Road, Shelby Twp. (just east of Shelby Road)

A  meandering, paved pathway takes us through the woods and along the Clinton River, with some hills for extra heart-healthy cardio work in this peaceful, scenic park.

Distance: 1 – 3 miles.

May 16, 6pm: Yates Trail

Park at Yates Cider Mill, 1900 E. Avon Road, Rochester (near Dequindre intersection)

Come for the water wheel, stay for the walk! Join us for a trek on a lovely gravel trail following an old canal path in the woods just behind Yates Cider Mill.

Distance: 1 – 3  miles.

May 23, 6pm: Firefighters Park

1800 W. Square Lake Road, Troy (between Crooks and Coolidge)

One of Troy’s five major parks, Firefighters Park offers a mix of open space and wooded areas with a section of the Rouge River running through the north end and along its east border. Distance: 1 – 2 miles.

May 30, 6pm: Paint Creek Trail

Park at Paint Creek Cider Mill, 4480 Orion Road, Rochester(between Collins & Gallagher)

From the Paint Creek Cider Mill parking lot we’ll pick up the trail and head south, for an out-and-back route with options to turn around at 0.5 miles or 1.5 miles for a total distance of 1 – 3 miles.
