Thursday Walking Group

Step into autumn at the Troy Historic Village! Our new weekly walking group is free to join. Walks cover a variety of scenic routes around Troy, plus each week features a different wellness activity to try, or the chance to walk and chat with a healthcare professional or local government official. Using the CARROT smartphone app, track your workouts and win prizes as you reach your fitness goals. All ages and levels of fitness are welcome! Offered in partnership with Beaumont Health.

Friday September 28: Step into Autumn Kick-Off Event, 6:00 – 8:00 pm

FREE Fall Open House! Park at the Village or Daisy Knight Dog Park (3410 Livernois) and walk Troy’s newest trail (1.5 – 2.0 miles total). Then continue your trek along Scarecrow Row at the Village, tour restored buildings to watch artisans work at historic trades and crafts, and enjoy light fall refreshments, plus live music from Hot Ugly alternative folk guitar-and-mandolin duo!

 

Thursday October 4: Walk & Zen

Walk the Daisy Knight Dog Park Trail then stay at the Village for 60 minutes of outdoor, restorative yoga and calming meditation with Gwen Dickerson of Explore Yoga studio. Total walk distance: 2.0 miles, paved. Park at the Village, 60 W. Wattles Road, Troy MI.

 

Thursday October 11: Nature Walk

Walk in the woods! Guided by a naturalist, this week’s walk takes us through the wooded trails of the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center. Please note: pets are not permitted on Nature Center trails. Trail length: 2 miles, wood chip/boardwalk. Park at Stage Nature Center, 6685 Coolidge Road, Troy MI.

 

Thursday October 18: Fit Trail Walk

Walk the beautiful wooded trail of Philip J. Huber Park (3500 Civic Center Drive). Take it up a notch and try each station of the fit trail for a total body workout! Walk distance: 1.3 miles, woodchip surface. Park at Troy Aquatic Center/tennis courts, 3500 Civic Center Drive, Troy MI.

 

Thursday October 25: Walk with a Doc

Meet at Beach Road Park to enjoy fall colors and talk wellness with a healthcare professional. Route passes historic cemetery and Davis-Beach home. Dogs welcome! Walk distance: 2.2 miles, paved. Note: approximately 0.20 mi of this walk is on the road. Park at Beach Road Park (west side of Beach Road, just south of Long Lake).
