Hands-On 19th Century Printing and Blacksmithing
Is relief printing as comforting as it sounds? Will movable type set you in motion? Is there anything ironic about iron? Do you love forging metaphors? How many heats does it take to make a Damascus sword? Answers to these questions and more will be made available to program participants in this intimate evening program designed to introduce “apprentices” to the history of letterpress printing and blacksmith forging through easy hands-on demonstrations in our Village Print Shop and Wagon Shop. Join our resident metalsmith Rose and our printers Glen and Ronica as we tour you through both shops in the course of an hour. Leave with your own printed souvenir. Makes a great date night!
