Troy Garden Club’s Annual Garden Walk
Traditionally, on the second Wednesday of July the Troy Garden Club celebrates the power of flowers. The club’s 43rd annual Troy Garden Walk, Garden Gifts, takes place on July 12, rain or shine. Six private gardens are open to ticket holders from 9:30am – 3:00pm and again from 5:00 – 8:30pm.
For several years the Troy Historic Village has partnered with the Garden Club to serve as the Garden Walk’s hub from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. Guests may shop the Arts & Crafts Boutique for unique, artisan-made, garden-themed items. Guests will also enjoy a Fabulous Finds tent filled with bargains donated by TGC members. Shoppers will find a selection of home-grown, nurtured plants to beautify their landscapes. Visitors can admire the Student Art Exhibit featuring entries from the Troy Garden Club-sponsored 9th annual student art competition and enter the Troy Historical Society raffle. Village admission is FREE on July 12, so visitors may take advantage of the opportunity to explore the Village buildings at no charge.
The Troy Garden Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It was founded in 1971. Each year, the Garden Walk is the club’s principal fundraiser, and the Troy Historic Village is a major beneficiary of the TGC’s efforts. A substantial portion of garden walk net proceeds are, in turn, donated to the Village, where they’re earmarked for the maintenance of the property’s 13 gardens.
Advance tickets to visit Garden Gifts’ six private gardens are $10 each and available for purchase beginning in late May at: Telly’s Greenhouse, Uncle Luke’s, Auburn Oaks Garden Center and the Troy Historic Village. On Garden Walk day – July 12 – tickets are $15 each and available ONLY at the Village.
